About Nick
I was born in Sayre, Oklahoma, but moved to Elk City shortly thereafter Elk City became a part of me. After graduating in 2002 from Elk City High School, I attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree of Architecture. I met my wife at OU and we were married shortly after graduation. We returned to Elk City to begin our lives, careers and start a family.
My roots in Western Oklahoma run deep. I have family throughout the district and family ties in Hammon and Texola. Katie, is from Roger Mills County, Oklahoma where her family operates a cattle ranch. Katie is a Project Manager for REES Associates, primarily working for a Fortune 100 Technology company based in Houston. We have two children, Xander (8 years) and Emilia (1 year). Xander is going into the 3rd grade at Elk City Elementary.
I currently serve as the Director of Engineering at Great Plains Analytical Services (GAS), where I have been for the past eight years. I also serve as the Mayor of Elk City and am a small business owner, HFJ Outdoors, a licensed FFL / SOT dealer. I went to work at GAS after my wife and I decided to move back to Elk City to be closer to family and raise our children in Western Oklahoma.
In 2013, I joined Leadership Elk City Class, where I was introduced to local government and how it touches the lives of citizens on a daily basis. During this experience, I knew I was destined for a life in public service where I can help others enjoy a quality of life that they deserve. I served on the Elk City Planning and Zoning Commission and then ran for Mayor in 2019 and I am currently serving a second term.
In 2016 I decided to turn a hobby and passion into a business and started HFJ Outdoors. I have hunted and been around guns my entire life. It felt only natural to pursue it further. My first guided hunt was with the Lt. Governors Turkey hunt, which Elk City hosts annually. Soon thereafter, I filed my application with BATFE to be licensed gun dealer. Cerakote was just taking a hold in the gun coating industry and having been trained in graphics in architectural school, I knew I could do it and HFJ Outdoors was born.
I love Oklahoma because it offers just a little bit of everything. I humbly ask for your vote on June 28th, 2022 for the Republican nomination for Oklahoma State House of Representatives, District 55.
